Debbie Alan’s childhood memories of summers spent on this beautiful multi-generational waterfront vacation property on the Saanich Peninsula are deeply cherished. Selecting a builder to remove the cottage her father had built, and craft a new custom home was a decision she and her husband David considered carefully.
Chris was referred to the client by Zebra Design. Selecting a builder who would treat the estate property with the love and care that Alan’s father would have approved of was the number one priority. Collaborating with Zebra Design, Chris designed and built a custom home tailored to their exacting standards, working meticulously around Debbie’s prized gardens.
The couple are proud owners of multiple homes, and so they wanted something homey and natural that their grandchildren could safely enjoy playing in. The finished home is reminiscent of a heritage beach house, with an inviting sense of grandeur playing in captivating contrast. Alan’s father may have built the old cottage for future generations to enjoy, but he would be proud of the home that his family has inspired and cultivated today.

Chris’ partner Joan managed the budget and expense side of the relationship with timeliness and precision, sending detailed costing on a bi-weekly basis and meticulously checking each and every cost for accuracy. We did not find one mistake over the 18-month term of the project. Critical to the success of Christopher Developments are his team of Site Supervisors and trades who were all without exception polite and courteous and capable. “The proof is in the pudding” as they say and to that extent we were thrilled with both the journey and the final product."
